I wonder if anyone has thought of the idea of requiring, thru law, that ANY business, building, or organization which does NOT allow concelled carry on its premises be required to provide ARMED security for the public frequenting those premises? What do you think?

The only problem with that is that now you are requiring a business owner, which alot of senators and representatives are one, be responsible for the personal safety of private citizens. I am in agreement with you on this but I know it would be almost impossible to get a sponsor let alone have it pass out of committee.

Joerocket, I know what you mean...but I think it's important to present the issue of not allowing people to protect themselves from people who do not adhere to laws....

Absolutely. Thats one thing SB 6860 was trying to do. I think CPL holders should be exempt legally from carrying wherever they choose, certain limitations would have to apply to satisfy the lawmakers, as they are the law abiding people and the proof lies in the CPL.

Just realize that with that restriction that it is only available to those with a CPL, that it then becomes a potential "stop and ID" for anyone open carrying. Since there is now a restriction on carrying, I believe they will have enough to warrant "stop and ID". Unless you wore your CPL in a conspicuous location.
