Spent this last Saturday and sunday out looking for Guns with my son. visited a number of pawn shops Everett to Renton. Found a Savage 300 Win Mag at Ben's loans for $279.00 looks like it's never been fired. My son picked that up as the neighbor had given him about 500 rounds of ammo a year or so ago. I was in the market for a new hunting rifle but have no plans to go on safari so I let him have it. I ended up with a Savage 7MM Mag, Big 5 had them on add for $399.00
Ben's also had a feather light S&W .38 revolver that I really liked but I had also looked at a walther .22 pistol with a laser at Sam's in Everett they are both the same price I just can't afford both right now so I'm trying to decide which one to get now.
Anyway what a fun way to spend the weekend. My son was so pumped about his new rifle. He didn't have the money so I loaned it to him and he couldn't believe I said yes. But then hey whats a dad for

Outstanding!

It will be even more "worth it" to him if he has to pay you back that money, that way it's "his" rifle, not "his rifle that you payed for". Trust me on this...  Wink

Kids do tend to take a little better care of things *their* money goes to, huh?

Not only that, but they don't feel like you're holding the fact that you paid for it over their heads. That can go a long way to making adolescence go by much easier. It's not necessarily that you'll do so, but more the perception on the part of the child. I'm very glad that with my first car, my parents fronted the money, but I slowly paid them back all the money (no interest) by working. It made me feel like they couldn't hold it over my head, even though they didn't.

With the way an adolescent thinks and/or rationalizes during an argument, this can be a Big Deal.

Actually he already paid me back, I guess I forgot to mention he's 25, and was just waiting for his check. In fact he has more guns than I do! I'm playing catch up. I'm just a proud dad. Thanks for the reply.
