The ideal type? Anything your comfortable with would be the ideal pistol.

I carry a S&W SW9F at the moment but have carried a Glock23, Taurus mod. 82, and a Sig 228.

I've carried a PT1911, A Bersa Thunder, A Taurus .357, a Taurus Ultralight, a S&W Sigma, A PA-63,

I think that's all.

Since I only own one handgun (I know, I know, as soon as I become rich), that's the one I carry openly or when I throw on my coat.  It's a Beretta 92FS.  Yes, it's a monster, but it feels so good in my hands.

I do want to look into getting a Beretta Px4 eventually.  It is quite small and would make a great BU gun.

Because I can't carry a cop.

Like Gregma, I have but one handgun (but 5 rifles!): Glock 27.

I carry both CC and OC in a OWB Serpa CQC carbon-fiber finish holster.

The "baby Glock" is small enough that most people that do see it automatically think "cellphone" and ignore it.

I carry either my XD45 or a full-size 1911 most of the time. Generally, I'll CC the XD more often because I have a good Crossbreed tuckable holster that makes it nearly invisible.

I'm about ready to buy my "Maxpedition" to help with concealing my full-sized 9mm when I'm only wearing shorts.  I can't wait!
