I Love Open Carrying!

WWW
« on: December 18, 2008, 09:05:09 PM »

I have written quite a number of large corporate stores to inquire what their policies are with regards to firearms lawfully carried by the general public. So far I have heard from Safeway, QFC, Autozone ( spoke with an administrative assistant who is researching it for me ) and so far they have been very pleasant to deal with and very understanding as to why I am inquiring.

As you know the state is going to be challenged and I believe that if we know the policies of stores and abide by them then we are also putting all firearm owners in good light with these companies, which have some good pull with lawmakers. It also lets the general public see that if encountered by someone unknown to us that we will respond in a positive manner. There have been some instances of OC'rs arguing with a manager that their corporate office policy is to mirror state law and since Wa. is an OC state that they can't ask them to leave. This is by and far the wrong answer. They do have the authority to trespass you and I guarantee that their District/Regional manager will back them up on it, especially if it is known that you were being belligerent and questioning their authority.

As I get responses from the corporate offices I will not sugar coat their answer and I will explain to them exactly why I am inquiring. If you have an encounter with a manager from the stores I have posted about please do the responsible thing and comply with their request or demands. I don't care if they are being an ass right off the bat or not you will lose the fight and it will put all firearm owners in a bad light which is not what any of us need right now.
