Mosin Nagant 91/30 from Big 5.  SHINY bore!  Already named it "Ma Bell" (I know Just A Car I should have waited to shoot it first, but with a perfect bore and tight fitting parts like that... )  Can't wait to take it out and send some ammo downrange.  I can get Czech silvertip 7.62x54r but would like to get some new Wolf.  Anyone know a local source for Wolf?

I use Sportco in Fife to feed my 7.62x39 family; they should stock 54R.

No worries Steve... if she "speaks" to you, that's good enough for me. I usually need to shoot 'em first to hear them loud-and-clear.  Wink

As for Wolf, you can get it at Sportsman's Guide for $14.77/20rd: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=282660&kwtid=212649

I think I'm just going to roll my own.  Catch up on some bills and I am going to buy dies for the 7.62x54r.  Lynnwood Guns had some cases of Albanian stuff for $76 last time I was in there.  I really should buy one and just put it aside.  Bought a 20 round box and it was a bit inconsistent though, bullets not all evenly seated, etc...  Is it me or is 7.62x54r always pretty inconsistent?  Even a box of Winchester I have have varied seating depths....

With that Albanian, remember that you're likely dealing with berdan primers, so either you're going to have to use hydraulic pressure (i.e. water and a dowel) to push out the old primers or you're going to need to use one of those special tools to get it out where it pierces, then pries it out.

Then, you have the choice of trying to find berdan primers (not all that easy here, but do-able) or drilling out the center of the primer pocket between the two flash holes to make one big one to essentially turn it into a boxer primer pocket.

...and that has to be done to EACH round. Well... I guess it'll keep ya busy!

At the same time, the Wolf Gold is copper-washed steel, so it's not really reloadable anyways.

Oh I didn't mean reload that stuff.  I'll buy new brass for hunting and ummm social useage.  Wolf and the surplus stuff for general blasting.

I picked up a case of Czech stuff. I haven't had a chance to try it yet, though.
