I know a graphic artist that is willing to donate to our cause.  I asked her if she'd be willing to help with a logo, she said she would if she could get some ideas.  With that...what are some idea?

I've been thinking about that a lot.  I've downloaded a few things, and am trying to put something together.  Here's basically what I'm thinking...

A circular logo.
In the center in the very background an outline of the three states (wa,or,id)
Over that, an image of a "minute man" holding a rifle.
Then around that center piece on top "NorthWest Citizens", on bottom "Defense League".

Here is the graphic of the "minute man" I was thinking about, it's actually quite a famous statue.

I just need to come up with a graphic for the three states together.

The only change I guess to your idea would be a more modern version of a minute man , perhaps holding an OlyArms M4gery ?

I couldn't find a good map to make a background with, and I didn't like the oval-y things, so i went with basic black on a transparent background. The philosophy i've always gone with, is if you can make a good clean logo in b&w it will still look good and be recognizeable in color (but not necessarily the other way around).

I need to find some pictures of people with an m4gery or ak or something to really set the tone, but here's my thoughts.

I like basic (I tend towards minimalism).

obviously those are vastly larger than necessary. Wink

I actually have an amazing picture of the Minuteman that I took myself while visiting the Eastern Seaboard.

It's a picture looking up at him with the sun blazing around him, silhouetting him. It's one of the best pictures I've ever taken, but it was on film, so I need to get it onto digital.

My friend bailed on me for the time being, she is swamped.  Here's what I attempted...

Here's a picture I took of the paper photograph I was talking about. It didn't come out nearly as good as the real picture looks, since the sky should actually be blue, but it gives you the idea of what I have: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c260/just_a_car/Minuteman.jpg

That's a great start!  I think the "MinuteMan" needs to be larger.  Where did you get the 3-state background?  I can play around with it if I had that.

Here you go.  I can't remember where I got it.  I did make the border bolder though.

I lack a variety of fonts, so this one was pretty plain.  The states image isn't cropped, so you may be able to work more with it.

Yeaahhh... um, so I'm using Firefox and can't see any of your photos. I even checked the source code and it's simply not there.

That is weird, I used "Additional Options" to attach them.  I see them.  Is there another way to put them on?

I've had this problem on other forums that likely use the same software.

I'm willing to bet it's using ActiveX or some other Microsoft-only application, since I can see them in IE in the other forum, but that doesn't even work here.

I can, on the other hand, see the two minuteman pictures that were posted as part of the post.

Very interesting....
Either something just changed or logging in made them visible to me.   I'm using OSX/Firefox and have always been logged in and been able to see them.  I came here on my windows box w/ firefox and FC6/Firefox and couldn't see them, only the big minuteman logos.  I logged in to see if that made a difference and now I can see them from all 3 OS's.

Is there another way to post a pic?  [img={some url]
