Open Carry RULES!

WWW
« on: October 09, 2007, 10:23:53 AM »

When we got home from Leavenworth Sunday morning, we decided to get some take-out from the Brown Bag Cafe in Redmond.  GOOOOD food!  Smiley

We had called previous to getting there so the order would be ready.  I went in of course OC'ing.  Stood there for about 5 minutes while others paid for their food.  I paid and turned to leave.  There was a woman sitting nearby who then looked up from my sidearm and smiled /nodded.  I returned the smile.
Outside there were about 6-7 younger folks being loud and messing around while waiting for a table.  When I opened the door and walked outside it got completely quiet.  All the people immediately sat down.  As I walked around the corner to my car, it was still quiet as could be there.
Rather than firearms causing death and misery, I think it causes good manners!

I always liked a quote I read years ago when some state (Texas, I think) was debating allowing legal open carry in their State Senate or something...When asked why it was a good idea, some chief of police or sheriff replied "it would teach people the meaning of the word 'sir' again."

Sorry, you're right.  The author is Heinlein.  Cooper quoted him.
