Greetings,

Thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself since there was an entire category for it.  I'm dad to 5 (16 to 24, one Army, two just joined the Navy), married 26 years tomorrow.  New to western WA 2 1/2 years ago, 47 years in eastern WA.   Brand new to the OC thing, living in the country all these years I just never thought about it.  Had the shotgun or rifle in the truck and at home, it was just what you did.  Started shooting pistol a few years ago to do something with my oldest son.  Finally got a CPL when I moved west.  I work at a place I can't carry, OC or CC, and haven't really had a problem with that but I do like the idea of the new law for the 'gun free zones.'  Being new, I'm trying to glean enough info to know what to do, how to do it, what equipment I need or don't need, etc.  I look forward to and appreciate the opportunity to participate and to meet some of you at an event someday.

Welcome to the board Mark!  And welcome to the wonderful world of OC'ing.  It's liberating, but can be quite frustrating at times as well Smiley

What brought you from the good side of the state over to the dark side?  Smiley

After years of telling my wife 'never', it was one of those offers I couldn't refuse.  Over the hill we came.  Over the years I always just visited the "other" Washington, now I get to experience it firsthand.  It is definitely a challenge and probably one of the reasons forums like this one get my interest.  Over in the rural parts of E. WA I felt neither the need nor desire to be armed.... now I wonder and above all I feel a anti-gun bias I hadn't experienced before that needs to be confronted.

Welcome to the rusty side. Quite an amazing difference isn't it? It's quite sad but yet reality.

There are a lot of anti gunners, but some pro gunners in the strangest places.  I still feel more comfortable OCing in downtown Seattle than I do anywhere else.
Welcome aboard!
