Open Carry RULES!

Taken from a local gun email list:

Quote
Speaking of which, I hope folks on list are aware of the anti gun policy of
half priced books. Their Crossroads store has a sticker on both doors that
"bans" "weapons". About a month ago I noticed it for the first time as I was
walking in with a produce box of old novels and tech books. I asked the 20
something lady at the credit counter and she said she "wasn't sure" if that
included police officers and those with licenses so she turned to a young man
in the back. He came out and was quite condescending with me. I told him I'd
been a customer at that store since the day they had opened and that I was
sorry to be faced with taking my business to amazon. He didn't seem to broken
up... I have a bundle of recent amazon reciepts that I'll be sending to their
corporate HQ soon.

When he told me it was "also mall policy" I confirmed with the mall kiosk that
that's absolutely not true. Please join me in boycotting Half Price, and
sending copies of your book buying reciepts to them with occiasional friendly
reminders.

Can anyone confirm these signs?  I'll try to get down there as soon as I can, but if someone else can get there faster and confirm/take pictures, we can add it to our list.

Got an opportunity to go to Cold Stone Creamery today as someone is leaving the company.  Sure enough, there is a sign on the outside door "Weapon Free Environment".

This is a Gun Unfriendly Location.

Good to know, I'll add it to both our list here and the one on OCDO.

I will also be checking my local Half Price, as I go in there rather often to look for role-playing books (yes, I'm a gamer geek).

Did you ever get a chance to check your local Half Price store?

No, I didn't... yano the worst part though? I was there to pick up a gift card for my sis on her Birthday (Sept. 1st) and forgot to look since I was already very busy/rushed/late.... oh, and hadn't slept for 24+ hours at that point.  Wink

Yeah, I finally got to bed that night with about 38 hours of being awake.

I think I'll actually get around to checking tonight. Since they're closed, it won't look so crazy standing in front of the door looking at all the stickers they have plastered there.

Well, I finally stopped-by my local Half Price Books and they have nothing even remotely close to a "no weapons" sign at their one and only entrance, so I guess this is an isolated issue rather than a corporate-wide one. That or they just don't put the sign up in accordance with a possible policy.

The entrance can be seen here: http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c260/just_a_car/HalfPriceLynnwood.jpg

The two unreadable paper signs with red lettering at the top are just requests for help/employment.
